The second set of my Shinigami's Curse Block, Science, is Quarantine.
The world of Dirtville was living in fear. The successor of L, Near, has defeated Kira. In the years that follow, Near arrests Kira's succesor's. Having six death notes in his collection, he has the only ones that function. Near entrusts the notebooks to his only friend, Caroline of Aperature Science Labs. Caroline seals them away in a heavily gaurded vault.
Decades afterwards, Caroline's personality and memories are preservered in robotic mind of GLaDOS. GLaDOS turns into a megolomaniac, taking over the world and its inhabitants. All the humans have been turned into either test subjects for labyrinths or thermal batteries to power GLaDOS and her insane experiments. As the human supply runs low, GLaDOS begins caputuring all the equines, avians, and other animals she can. The ponies of her collection are perfect for gene manipulation. New species are formed, ripe for testing. A mute human and two sentient ponies arise from the organized chaos. Do they have what it takes to free the world from GLaDOS' tryanny?

The mechanic "bind to a creature" was the prototype name for soulbound. "Bind 1", "Bind 2", etc. is my idea. To be honest I thought of my mechanic before I saw the previews for soulbound, but I don't have any proof.
